I love a good gentleman thief

Growing up, I really adored movies like How to Steal a Million, To Catch a Thief, and The Pink Panther. A good heist or a charming jet-setting con man ... it's a lot of fun.

I'm definitely putting some of that energy into my current Superhero Romance: Dating the Supervillain's Daughter.

Ironically, Jackson Mondragon, the hero who is dating the proverbial daughter, is NOT a con man in the slightest. He's probably my straightest arrow lead in a long while. Very conscientious and determined to do the right thing.

The father of his would-be-loved interest on the other hand... Rembrandt is a throwback to an over-the-top, stylish thief who steals paintings because he thinks they aren't being properly appreciated by their wealthy owners, and they should belong to someone like him who actually understands the art. He's charming, dramatic, and not particularly malicious.

Then we have Monet, his kind-hearted daughter who also loves art, but is so equally fed up with her father's thieving ways but also afraid for him to face consequences, so she's constantly bouncing back and forth trying to stop him and protect him.

They're a really fun dynamic.
