So what is H.L. Burke up to now...

I am at a weird crossroads where I just finished Game, Set, Match but haven't really dived into a new project. I have a BUNCH in the pipeline, though, so here's a breakdown.

  1. I'm trying to build up some extra chapters of my serial Cozy Fantasy, A Palate for Magic so that you guys have something to read. I posted a new chapter last week and am hoping to drop one a week for the next couple of months. (read the first chapter free here).
  2. Lucy Winton, who wrote the story "Late Bloomer" for the DOSA Files Volume 2 has written a follow-up. It's called FOREST FIRE and I will be publishing it. There's going to be a Kickstarter with a potential illustrated edition stretch goal so keep your eyes open!
  3. I have agreed to write a novella for a multi-author project next year which I really want to get started on (it's a retelling of a George MacDonald short story).
  4. I have an idea for a Mothman story (because of course I do).
  5. ​The Self-Help and Other Fantasies Anthology is still taking submissions until the end of July... and yeah, I'll be Kickstarting that too (I'm a little crazy...).
  6. I have a Christmas novelette coming out this winter as part of another Multi-author series (more about that to come... this one is superhero and features evil swans).
  7. I want to put out another Tales & Tabletop One Shot/Story Combo to follow up Dungeon Maintenance 101.
  8. I really should do a Realm Makers recap. I always say I'm going to and almost never do.

So, yeah, this is definitely the calm before the storm for me. Prayers appreciated. I try not to overload myself, but I really just like doing stuff.

Also, I have more in-person events in September and October I'll be telling you about soon (one in Toledo, OH, two in Charleston, WV).
